#3989: My fingers are still stiff
So I went over to Og's place this evening to shoot the breeze with him for a couple of hours. I rode the bike; and since we parted ways after dark, it was pretty damned chilly outside.
I rode home, and it was a dang cold ride. But the really remarkable thing happened when I rode through a wooded area; the air was even colder there, as one would expect, but as I rode through that spot my visor fogged up!
I had to throw the helmet visor open in order to see, and then I saw that the mirrors had also fogged up, too. I'm just glad my glasses were warm enough that they didn't; that would have been...inconvenient.
Well, I made it home in one piece--one chilly piece--and boy was I glad I'd thought to bring a hoodie with me. Otherwise I would have been half frozen rather than just chilly.
Maybe someday soon I'll be able to get myself some cold weather riding gear. Heck, a pair of sweatpants under my jeans, and some warmer gloves, would probably have been enough to keep me completely comfortable tonight.
Ah, well.
