#4861: Now it sits by the door.

On my way home from work today, I stopped at the auto parts store, and I bought:
water pump
thermostat gasket
coolant hygrometer
That last is a $1.50 tool used to determine the water content of your coolant. In it are five balls, and the more of them are floating, the lower your freezing point is. As the Jeep sits right now it's got a freezing point of -10, which will be fine for now since I expect to open the cooling system up on Saturday morning, when I replace the water pump.

Lifetime warranty on the pump, too. A bit more than I wanted to spend but since I wasn't planning this sort of repair at all, paying more for a brand new pump (as opposed to remanufactured) seemed like a reasonable expedient.

Anyway, the cooling system repair supplies are sitting by the door, waiting for Saturday. Hopefully by then my hands will have recovered from yesterday's ordeal and won't hurt so much. *sigh*

See, the tacos I make at home blow away any tacos I've ever had anywhere else. Lettuce used to be necessary, but now it just gets in the way, so I…
