#4930: Not installing the flex pipe.

Talked to Og, who suggested it would be better simply to sweat in a new piece of copper, for a variety of reasons. Therefore the flex coupling is going back, and I'm going to see if I can buy a 1' section of 1.5" pipe (which, by the way, is measured on the inside diameter, so my external measurement of 1.625" was correct but it is indeed 1.5" pipe). Because otherwise I need to buy something like a 10' section of 1.5" pipe, and at about $30 or so that would be ridiculous, considering I need to replace about a 3" section.

Hooray. Or something.

Meanwhile I needed my webcam for a job interview (yes I am still looking for something better than working in a call center! ...though the pace of looking has slowed considerably) and I managed to find it after only half an hour's search and one trip to the can. Win 8 recognizes that it's plugged in, but it doesn't actually work correctly; the camera app that came with Win 8 gives me a black screen. When I use Logitech's software it works, but the frame rate is pretendous. I want to make a good impression with my new employer*, so guess where I'm going today? (*= Power of positive thinking!!!)

On the same trip I'm going to take back the flex coupling, and get some supplies for fixing my rocking chair. I'm tired of the old rocker that has temporarily taken its place; I want my glider back, and I am finally getting to work on that. And while I'm there, of course I'll inquire about getting a less than 10' length of 1.5" copper pipe, because WTF.

And if that's successful, then look at YouTube videos on how to sweat copper piping. Hooray.

The first stop must be the gas station, because my second foray last night left me with about 1/16 of a tank--if that.

Today, I guess, will be a bit spendy. Argh etc. But it's got to be done.
