I have one year left but that's not enough time for me to be right, sadly. The last vignette from this post in 2008 predicts, "In ten years I expect 128 cores will be commonplace and the die-hard power freaks will have 512, and some people who have no other hobbies (or lives) will have 1024."

Nope. Overestimated the need for processing power, I did. Four cores are commonplace now, because there's still a little room in Moore's law.

See, I made a mistake by saying "in ten years". I should have either said "in twenty years" or "someday".

Well, that's how it goes, I guess.
