#5877: That word does not mean what you think it means.

As far as I know it starts here where the purveyor of a shirt refers to PDT as "dotard".

Then:

...a mix of fail videos called "Dotards compilation". I'd bet money this is the new word making the rounds of the Intartubzorz: "Hey, you can call stupid people 'dotards'!"

"You keep using that word. I don't think it means what you think it means."

A dotard is an old person who has become stupid due to age. Grand Maester Pycelle, in Game of Thrones, pretends to be a dotard.

A dotard is not any person doing something foolish.

I hope that clears things up a bit.

In the "I cannot seem to catch a break" department, I ran all kinds of errands Monday, and was in Indiana to go to Menards (and then Lowe's) in a futile search for HVAC registers. Finding nothing, I stopped at a gas station to tank up, only to find that all the gas pumps in the station were down. All of them, in mid-afternoon.

Went to the other gas station nearby. Paid $2.34 a gallon for gasoline ($2.339). On my way home, saw that gas in Illinois was $2.25 a gallon ($2.249) and said some bad words.

That was a pretty frustrating afternoon. I spent three hours running around and did not get very much done.

Evil Picard! That's pretty damned funny, right there.

A friend of mine always used to make jokes about Picard going nuts and promoting Wesley to Admiral.

...and I just read all the strips there. *sigh*
