Asbestos guys came by today. To do the family room, front hall, and dining room? $1,800. That's not too shabby. One company quoted me $2,200 for just the family room; another said $1,900 for the one room. We'll get rid of all the asbestos tile in one go, and never have to worry about it again.

I think "inexpensive IKEA chair" has died. At least, I can't sit in it for any length of time without my butt hurting, and I can no longer lean back in it. How long have I had this chair, anyway?
Since April 5, 2014. 3.5 years. Not bad for a chair that cost what, $60?

I actually started this post last night. Mrs. Fungus came home from work, immediately terminating all bloggeration. We finished watching the 1990 IT mini-series.
Holy crap was that bad. It was bad. Bad bad bad.
So let's see who was in it:
That guy from WaltonsIn order, Richard Thomas (AKA John Boy), John Ritter, Tim Reid, Harry Anderson, Tim Curry, and Annette O'Toole. Now, all of these people are competent, capable actors; I've seen them do so in other places. But their acting was just so bad in this miniseries I don't know how to cope with it.
That guy from Three's Company
That guy from WKRP in Cincinnati
That guy from Night Court
That guy from Rocky Horror Picture Show
That woman from Smallville
The last straw came when John Ritter delivered this stinkinous line about Tim Reid being "the keeper of the lighthouse", and I exploded, "Good God, you people are complete shit!"
...which set off Mrs. Fungus.
Seriously. Best performance: Tim Curry as Pennywise the clown. Worst performance: everyone else.
When we got to the big reunion scene (perhaps five minutes of screen time before the "lighthouse" line) I told my wife, "You know, I detest all of these people." The show actually had me rooting for the friggin' clown.
For friggin' my snack.

Interview this morning, done and done, and I'm exhausted. The drive there was horrendous--294 was a parking lot for twelve miles--and it took me an hour and forty-five minutes to traverse a distance I can normally cover in about an hour. I left the bunker at 7:32 and arrived at 9:15. Shit.
Interview was fine. Here's hoping it went well enough to secure me the job.

I can't believe we're a week away from Thanksgiving.
