Actually, he said it with an atrocious Italian accent. Go to 0:54:
The old saying is "Character is what you do when no one else is watching." Well, think about it: when you refuse to provide someone with useful information, you're said to be keeping him in the dark. In the dark, when no one is looking, when no one can see, what you do then is what your character is.
Pity they never made the sequel to that movie. And if they tried to do it today, it would be awful.

Still trying to gin up a Christmas vignette for this year. No luck so far. Perhaps one will come to be before it's too late.
Don't expect it to be hard SF like last year's. I'd prefer that, but it's not the way to bet.

Listening to my Christmas MP3 disk on my way home from work, it rolled around to David Arkenstone's "Come, O Come":
I usually skip it, because it's not exactly the sound I want from a Christmas song; but it occurred to me that if Kenji Kawai were to arrange a Christmas song for Vampire Princess Miyu or something, that is largely what it would sound like.

Of course, these questions all come from marxist thought. If anyone ever asks you a question like, "What is your understanding of settler colonialism and indigenous rights?" or especially "Do you think capitalism is exploitative?" you know you're talking to a frickin' communist.
If it's a woman, the thing to do is to RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN.
Oh, the last one's the Platonic ideal of nonsensical postmodernism: "Does your allyship include disabled folks?" I don't know what an "allyship" is and I DON'T WANT TO because WTF.

We have stopped listening to you.
They thought we'd all just humbly sit back and endure their abusive disdain forever; after all, it's what Conservative Inc Republicrats have always done. But after decades of being lectured, nagged, and insulted--scorned as ignorant, bigoted, hate-filled fools too stupid to be trusted to act in our own best interests, which they've always been happy to define for us--from their ivory-tower enclaves in NYC and LA, normal Americans are fed up.Indeed we are.

Today, I sat in the driver's seat and ran the computer while the guy training me (a different one from last week) told me what to do. I'm learning.
Tomorrow, yet another different trainer. But I don't have to be there until 10:30 AM (staying until 7) and that means I don't have to go to bed indecently early tonight. You know what that means? It means I'm going to PAAAAARRR---T!
...I'm going to go wash the dishes. *sigh*
