#6177: 9,000 miles is a bit much

Recommended service intervals for oil changes is like 3,000 miles, maybe 5,000 if you do a lot of long-distance driving. I last changed my oil in December.

Plus side: the mechanicals in the straight six in the Jeep were perfected before 1970. There is nothing to improve as far as durability and longevity is concerned, and straight sixes are bulletproof engines anyway; they'll go just about forever. And when you're putting 2k per month on your car?

Point being, I'm not too worried about it. I should do better, but it's not too bad. I'm glad to have it done, though.

I'm hoping, the next time I have a day off, to go through the suspension and grease all the fittings, and maybe rotate the tires too. But that won't happen before Wednesday...assuming it's not 30° and snowing again.
