#6401: Well, that's over.

Left on the dot at 9:01 this morning, and promptly got caught in a real bad traffic jam. Big wreck on the major highway--two semis and a car, with big thick skid marks across three lanes; one truck on tow, the other one still being righted after it fell onto its left side. Big mess, made me twenty minutes late.

...late on the day they're laying me off. Oh, tragedy.

Got there and worked; was in contact with my recruiter who said $Potential_Employer would call me around 2 PM for a phone screening. So instead of going to lunch at 2, I sat at my desk and waited for the call. That went pretty well, so we'll be setting up an in-person interview soon. But by the time that was done the cafeteria was closed and it was too late to go out for food, so lunch ended up being a bag of Chili-Cheese Fritos. Whee!

Continued working, waiting for the Sword of Damocles to drop; I thought someone was going to come over to me and tell me it was time to go. But no: at 4:30 messages popped up on my screen that I needed to enter my password, and when I tried, it rejected it. Tried to find my boss, but she'd left for the day, and so I went back to my desk. When I entered my password, it said "password disabled" and I said, "Welp, guess it's now, huh?"

Found the remaining manager on duty and handed over my badge. Ended up leaving at 4:40 PM, so that'll be my official end time.

On to the next adventure.

It's cold, rainy, and windy outside, just like you'd expect of November.
