Middle school coach, a man, is disciplined because he refuses to supervise a young girl in the boys' locker room. Said girl identifies as a boy, and so she's using the boys' locker room, without any warning to any of the boys or their parents.

Coach quite rightfully does not wish to be in a situation where he might be overseeing a locker room wherein a girl aged 12-15 is undressing, because if that girl ever changes her mind about being a boy she can then accuse him of sexual assault: "He looked at me while I was undressing!"

This is nothing but sheer insanity.

But muh global warmenating! Sorry, folks, but solar minimum trumps increased CO2 by a huge margin.

Well, that's not surprising. Re-imagining any classic story like The Nutcracker will usually result in complete horseshit.

So, they tossed me into the deep end today and had me start taking calls after approximately 2.5 days worth of training. I was frazzled, but I managed it.

...and then sat for two hours with no calls. I'm only taking calls for one customer, and they're overflow calls anyway, and eventually I will be trained on other customers, and that will fill in the gaps.

Still, managed to be a bit useful, and I'll get it with time.

During those lulls, though, I found myself falling asleep. I'd notice the time, and then I'd go off, and the tilting of my head would wake me up, and I'd see that IT WAS STILL THE SAME TIME. I drew, in my notebook, a stick figure yelling "WHY IS IT STILL 2:34?"

But the day did end. Then it took me 2 hours to get home. *sigh*

So far this month it has snowed four times, and at least twice it's been enough to accumulate and stay. This morning there was nearly an inch of snow on the roads, so it took me 40 minutes to traverse a distance which normally takes 15.

There was an SUV spun out on a bridge, of course, which was at least half of the delay.

Still got to work on time, though, so can't complain too much.

It snowed down here in the Fungal Vale; and then it snowed up north later in the day. In fact, as I was leaving work it had started snowing up there again.

Tomorrow is "casual day", which means I can wear jeans; and in fact next week is jeans all week, so I've got that going for me. Hooray!

Had to go to far off-site (soon to be main site) today, so I was able to see my new office. They've already got a nameplate outside it! How long has…

  • #7870: Heavy rain

Probably the last thunderstorm of the year, hard rain. Weather site says "2 to 3 inches of rain"--for the day, I think--and I'm not inclined to doubt…

  • #7869: Here comes the rain (again)

Up a bit after sunrise, did the pre-blog surf and found nothing I really wanted to comment about; but in the meantime the light coming in from…
