#6601: Well, the weekend progresses

Late last night I hung the LED fixture over my desk downstairs. It's a night-and-day difference, all right; the thing is plenty bright and there's enough light to do detail work on things, so if I find myself trying to repair another laptop--or do anything, really--I won't be squinting at it quite so much.

When I trimmed the new switchplate for the bathroom, it sent a fine white dust everywhere. I have no idea what that thing was made from, but it's some kind of plastic. Worst part is that if you wipe it off with your hands, it sticks to your skin until you touch something, at which point it smears.

Other than my shopping trip, and putting up the new shower curtain, that's all I accomplished yesterday. *sigh*

Today is one of those days which looks as if it's nice and warm outside, but when you look at the thermometer....

Jeep's right rear wheel is grinding when I step on teh brakes. I'm not sure why; that's the one on which the adjuster broke, and I never did put the new one in, so it can't have worn out the brake shoe. In all liklihood the drum itself is rusty, and when I step on the brakes, the brake shoe contacts it just enough to make that noise. Got to fix that, but I'm not going to do it in forty degree weather.

Going to have to patch the passenger-side floor; there's a hole. It's not structural, but it's inconvenient. That will have to wait for a time when it's reasonably nice outside, too, because I have to remove the passenger-side seat and peel the carpet back, and then fabricate and weld in a patch.

Went to bed about 3, slept (with some interruptions) until 2, and all I really want is to go back to bed again. *sigh*
