You do not get to coerce people into being vaccinated, either.
How can government and society ensure compliance with protective vaccines?Or, you know, you could just tell someone who refuses the vaccine that he's not allowed to buy or sell (or work, or anything) unless he displays his vaccination mark.
Vaccine refusers could lose tax credits or be denied nonessential government benefits. Health insurers could levy higher premiums for those who by refusing immunization place themselves and others at risk, as is the case for smokers. Private businesses could refuse to employ or serve unvaccinated individuals. Schools could refuse to allow unimmunized children to attend classes. Public and commercial transit companies — airlines, trains and buses — could exclude refusers. Public and private auditoriums could require evidence of immunization for entry.
Okay? When you are numbered, when you let the government stamp an identifying brand on your skin, when you must comply with it or else be unable to earn a living, YOU ARE A SLAVE.
The Nazis tattooed serial numbers on their concentration camp prisoners. That alone is justification for saying NO to this horseshit.

What a piece of work this woman is. Convicted of kidnapping a man, raping him, torturing him (for three weeks) and then killing him.
Before receiving accolades for her work as an "impactful community leader," Donna Hylton and her gang of prostitutes had drugged real estate broker Thomas Vigliarolo, brought him to their Harlem apartment, and subjected him to a three week torture session which included starvation, beatings, burnings, and various forms of sexual torture leading to a gruesome murder. Hylton had raped Vigliarolo with a three-foot metal rod, later laughing it off, quipping "he was a homo anyway."Once out of prison, she very rapidly found a job as a Democrat activist.
Of course she was involved with the Democrat convention.
Who else was?
Biden distanced himself from Linda Sarsour, who spewed a bunch of typical Democrat left-wing hatred against the usual out-groups including Jews.
They really do tell you who they are, if you only listen to them. And every totalitarian government with a mass-murder rate--Nazi Germany, for example, or the USSR--has been anti-Semitic.
I forget, now, who it was who said that Jews are the canary in the coal mine--but they are, because the left always hates them and always oppresses them, sooner or later.

C'mon, Second City Cop, don't hold back. Tell us what you really think of lesbian mayor of color Lori Lightfoot. "You are by far the most useless excuse for a politician we have seen in our lifetimes," he concludes, after a spectacular rant that must be read in its entirety.

Fear the ones who have remained quiet all this time. They are not quiet because they fear you. They are quiet because if they have to start making noise, it will last until all of you are dead or in jail.

Some colleges are saying they can't survive, financially, without the college football season. Which means those colleges are essentially just semi-professional football teams with colleges attached.
Must be nice, eh?

I've seen a couple of YouTube videos of that derecho hitting Cedar Rapids, and--
I need to back up a bit.
So I've talked, here, about the various cartoons in my notebooks, and I talked about the sequence where they ran out of sound effects and had to make do with factory seconds from North Korea:
The first Martian looks in this big crate and says, "What the--? These are all factory seconds from NORTH KOREA!" ...which is why, subsequently:...and many more. That last one, though--it grew some legs, because in a later notebook I was trying to figure out where a murph fit on the Beaufort Scale. Eventually I decided that it would be #13 on the Beaufort Scale (it currently goes to 12, "Hurricane") and would be indicated at the yacht club by flying three of the square flags.
Smoker's lighter goes "moosle"
Lightning goes "FAMP"
Rathad the wizard, casting a spell, and the spell goes "ZLORB"
A guy playing the saxophone: GRILPIT
A guy throwing a rock in a lake: KREM
A martian firing an arrow at a target: SNERDLE
A grandfather clock: gni gnu gni gnu
An R/C truck: PRELTOW
A gale: MURPH
There were a couple of little cartoons about murphs (storms that feature super-strong winds, stronger than hurricane force) and then I dropped it as one of those things that would only be funny to me.
But what I saw, in those derecho videos, was a murph, all right. And since I saw the first video I have been privately referring to it as "the murph" rather than "the derecho" or "that big storm last week".
My parent used to tell the tale of the huge storm that hit the Fungal Vale--I'm not sure how old I was, or if I even was yet, but apparently the thing that scared the shit out of Mom was when the front door started to make a sound like a french horn. That was a murph, too, I bet.

Anyway, climbed up onto the roof and had a gander at the cupola. I knew that it had to be in bad shape since the tin got torn off last year; the number of staples put in it, no way it comes off unless the wood underneath is totally shot. Which it was.
I was able to reconstruct the shape of the roof panels by taking the most intact one off, tracing it onto some cardboard, and then simply extending the straight lines with a straightedge until they met. Then I was able to take measurements of the sides; when I realized that tt's not quite a right triangle, I despaired of getting the shape right, until I realized you just made a TEMPLATE, you doofus!. Cut it out with a box cutter; all I have to do now is to transfer it to plywood and cut it to shape.
Few other things need doing but getting those panels cut to the right size and shape will be the biggest part of the job. I'll have to clean up the remaining structure on the roof, replace a couple bits of trim, and get it painted; then put the roof on, and cover it with something.
The weathervane will be mounted to it, but I'm going to put a block (2x4) under the roof where it attaches so it won't get knocked off quite as easily.
Need to get some kind of cladding for it; I'm thinking copper, because the shutters are green and copper will eventually have a nice green patina to it.

Anyway, that's all for now.
