This "box-office bomb" is a 50 megaton thermonuclear warhead. I mean, how many millions did it cost to make? Granted this was a "limited release", but really--for 3,000 people to see it when it's released Thanksgiving weekend...!
Earth to Hollywood: Most Americans don't want to pay $10 to see their country trashed and pissed on by left coast liberal asshats. If you want to make a war film that will make money, make the soldiers the heros of the story.
But of course a story like that wouldn't toe the commie-lib party line, ie that "Iraq=Vietnam" and the USA is always the bad guy.
