#7440: A mere forty-two degrees

"Today's temperature is forecast to be MUCH COOLER than yesterday."

That's what the weather web site says. Yesterday it hit 54°. Right now it's 12°.

We've had high winds. Last night, a particularly strong gust blew the front door open (I had not closed it completely when I took out the trash). The lights wrapping one of the porch columns drooped, so the part of the string that lit the upper three feet of it was collected in a loose bunch just above the bracket for the flag. First thing I did after getting up this morning was to go out there and re-wrap it.

Still have strong winds but it's cold out there.

We got the barest dusting of snow some time in the night, as well. Not enough to make the ground white, and the wind blew it around so it's really only collected in the lee spots.

I got everything done last night that I wanted to get done, except for making the apple crisp, because once I'd finished the pecan tarts I ran out of steam.

Played some WoW while waiting for the water to be turned back on. Once the workers packed up their gear and left, I cleaned up the kitchen, then sat in my rocking chair and read some manga. Suddenly it was 3 AM and I still was not in bed, so I rectified that.

Got out of bed and put the pumpkin pies away, then went to bed again. Slept. Slept rather well, too, waking about 10-ish feeling well-rested.

Turkey goes into the brine tonight.

...if I had any gumption I'd go to the store and find something to have as dessert so I wouldn't have to make apple crisp. Maybe I'll just have a slice of pumpkin pie.

Merry Christmas, everyone.
