Meanwhile, the political situation continues to be a hot mess.
Around 2:30 Fungus time, the State Department replaced President Trump's biography with a blank page that merely said that his term ended January 11 at 19:40. No mention of what time zone it was, and at the time 19:40 was perhaps five hours in the future (assuming they were talking Eastern time) or 45 minutes previously (if it was Greenwich time). The comments for the Vox Day post about this went apeshit because the time was counting down, or up, or something. Anyway after perhaps twenty or thirty minutes, it was announced that a "disgruntled employee" at State changed the bios for both Trump and Pence to say that. And the pages went down, not to be seen again.
There's a popular AR-15 site which has been memory-holed by Googe. The remedy for DNS poisoning took you to a backup page which apparently wasn't populated, and the owners of the site confirmed that they've been taken down because Republican Terrorists.
All kinds of major corporations are now refusing to do business with the GOP. Make no mistake about it: when corporations do the bidding of a sitting government explicitly to shut out a political party, that is FASCISM.
Okay? FASCISM. This isn't about preventing another "riot" and it's not even remotely "temporary". And by the way, there is talk of making sure that no one who worked for Trump can get a job.
Democrats are preparing to label any MAGA rallies as "domestic terrorist activity" and of course that will be extended to any rally supporting positions to the right of Mao Tse-Tung.
If you are not frightened, you're not paying attention.
The patriots storming the Capitol has been turned into the Democrats' very own Reichstag fire and they are not letting the crisis go to waste.
(The Reichstag fire, for those of you who haven't read The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, which--if you had read it--would have helped you understand what the Democrats are doing.)
They are going full totalitarian on us, and they are doing it right now.
Trump supporters--American citizens!--who attended the rally on the 6th are now on no-fly lists. Remember that bit in the Constitution about "the right of the people to peaceably assemble"? GONE.
It used to be that the government could not punish a huge crowd of people for the actions of a small minority of them; but the Democrats are now trying to punish everyone who even thought about voting Republican.
Parler was summarily dumped by Amazon, and in such a way that everything they had was left wide open to hackers. So their entire user database including private information is in the hands of God knows who. Including, for some reason, images of driver's licenses. (I don't know about you, but any social media service that requires me to file images of my DL are services I do not need.)
Wilder, Wealthy, And Wise says we're right on the brink of civil war. He's 100% correct about that. (A little more about that post, later on.)
Meanwhile, this just in, Trump declares emergency in DC. There are 15,000 National Guard troops in the city. Brigades are between 2,000 and 5,000 soldiers, so that's a minimum of three brigades that are in DC.
RUMOR HAS IT THAT in DC, cops are locking Trump rally attendees into hotels. That's a Tweedlediddle link, so be careful. That kind of shit is what COMMUNISTS do. Leftist replies to it are, of course, brushing it off, because after all it's the evil right-wingers who are having their civil rights trampled.

Those rallies that are planned for the 20th? I can't emphasize this enough: STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM THEM. Either President Trump has a plan to fix all this, or he doesn't, but either way you're not going to do anyone any good if you go to one of those things and get identified by the FBI as an "insurgent". WHICH THEY WILL DO.
Our rights under the First Amendment are gone, and they are gone RIGHT FUCKING NOW. Anyone telling you otherwise is either a fool or a communist. The communists can say whatever they want; we may not.
Do not go, unless you are prepared to go underground immediately afterwards. Don't even go to see the spectacle. A country which can silence its lawfully elected leader is a country where the citizens may not speak without permission.

The chili came out fantastic. I like to get a bowl of it and cover it with shredded queso, and then start to eat it by dipping the crust of ginzo bread (Marconi's Italian bread, only available in the Chicago area) in it and sopping up the liquid. My wife pronounced it "perfect".

I want a new email service. Not for personal use, but for samizdat purposes should the blog go down--I've been thinking it might be a good idea to have a backup mail list.
