#7588: Another job done

Soffet: painted.

That water-resistant spackle is seriously hard to sand, though. 120 grit was barely touching it. 80 grit did better, but I needed to go to 60 grit to get the job done in a reasonable amount of time.

Then, two coats of paint, flap slap plap, and the soffet is smooth and pretty again.

So, in one week, I painted the bedroom and finished the soffet over the tub. I rule.

The cupola is next, but I'm doubtful that I'll get it done this weekend. Anyway, it sure is nice to have those two jobs off my "to do" list.

That nap really messed up my sleep schedule, but at least now I'm starting to feel tired again. No rush; we have nothing planned for tomorrow and I'm expecting to sleep in.

I was at my far offsite on Tuesday afternoon. I've mentioned before that the place is basically surrounded on three sides by railroad tracks; well, as I was getting out of the Jeep to go inside, the gates came down and the guy sitting in his car at the end of the parking area got out with a high-end camera, only to realize it wasn't what he was waiting for, and he got back into the car. Railfan, I think, but who knows?

Listened to The Sicilian Defence and yeah, that was pretty bad. Parsons and Woolfson phoned that one in, all right. Wow.

Of course, they meant for it to be bad, and as bad as possible, so that's okay.

Hard to believe it, but the year is already 25% in the bag.
