#1719: Did anything happen?

Well, it's 2 PM right now, and as of now I've seen no news about major cities being taken out by nuclear-powered suicide bombers in light aircraft, so maybe we dodged a bullet this time.

9/11. *sigh*

My unwillingness to dwell on the events of 9/11/01 yet again should not be misinterpreted as a weakening of my resolve to deal with those responsible. Until the islamic thugs join the rest of the world in the 21st century they must be pounded repeatedly, preferably with very large munitions.

Why not "the right to a Ferrari" and "the right to unlimited dessert"? Someone apparently doesn't understand that "rights" are not the same thing as "needs".

Look at the "rights" this douchebag wishes to insert into the Constitution:
* The right to a useful and remunerative job in the industries or shops or farms or mines of the nation;

* The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation;

* The right of every farmer to raise and sell his products at a return which will give him and his family a decent living;

* The right of every businessman, large and small, to trade in an atmosphere of freedom from unfair competition and domination by monopolies at home or abroad;

* The right of every family to a decent home;

* The right to adequate medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health;

* The right to adequate protection from the economic fears of old age, sickness, accident, and unemployment;

* The right to a good education.
If this were inserted into the Constitution, can you imagine what the government would end up looking like?

Yeah: Soviet Russia.

"The right to a good education"--has this goon looked at how well our socialized educational system (that is, "public schools") work--or, rather, don't work?

This is nothing but a retread of the Communist Manifesto. Jesus.

Someone, at least, is trying to do something about the porous border. He can only do something about the border which Mexico shares with Texas, though.

It's ludicrous that the United States should have the border security of a third-world nation.

Steven Den Beste on ACORN helping a pimp. This is the true face of ACORN, everyone: they're a bunch of skunks.

The mainstream media is ignoring the story. Wake up!

The last phrase of this is the best: "...[T]he Left is terrified to incontinence of Sarah Heath Palin."

Indeed, which is why they are doing their best to destroy her.

I have expressed amazement before that John Stossel could remain at ABC News. Well, he's going to Fox now.

At least Fox won't yank his reports in order to show celebrity news.

A quick surf through /b/ on 4chan:

...a pic of Joe Wilson photoshopped to have a fat naked Rush Limbaugh in his lap, as if engaging in anal sex: is that the best way you can refute Wilson's point? LOL.

...a pic of Sarah Palin next to a pic of Jeneane Garofalo, requesting a battle. No contest; Sarah Palin would OWN J.G. in a matter of seconds. Best thing they can manage? A picture of Sarah Palin captioned, "SLUT SLUT". 9_9

...a bunch of 9/11 pics which attempt to be edgy/shocking/offensive, none of which manage to elicit more than a yawn, because "OBVIOUS TROLL IS OBVIOUS".

In general, /b/ is junior high school. It's not even a good junior high; it's the junior high in the district with all the "slow" kids. But they don't know they're "slow" because modern political correctness requires that they be called "special", so they all think they're geniuses.

That nonsense with the Fawkes mask somehow representing the "anonymous"? It's stupid. /b/ has nothing to do with V for Vendetta other than somehow thinking that they are striking a blowa gainst "the man" or something equally inane.

Actually, the entire Fawkes mask thing is pretty fricking stupid.

Yesterday I managed to do nothing.

...was woken up at 9 AM by my fiancee in order to go hit a temp agency, but while I was cooking breakfast, bad gut cramps hit. There was an explosion--thankfully confined to the correct locale for such explosions--and after that I spent most of the day in bed with continuing gut cramps.

Fiancee and I had eaten McDonald's food the day before, and both of us had gut malf, though mine was worse. It's still cramping today, though not nearly as badly.

My dinner last night was bean soup, which had been in the freezer for an indefinite time but which tasted just fine to me. Low-impact food FTW.

#1720: Good news!

ACORN won't be involved with 2010 census! least officially....

Via. Which must be read first in order to get the correct context: another two ACORN offices gave uncritical tax advice to the guy posing as a pimp with an underage string.

Tonight I basically finished assembly work on the Escort engine.

As it sits now, it needs only its exhaust manifold to be complete, and the exhaust manifold merely needs one frozen (and broken) bolt removed in order for it to be ready to go back on.

Unable to get all the Democrats in the Senate to vote for Obamacare, the Democrats are preparing to use a parliamentary trick to pass it with a simple majority instead of the usual required 60 votes.

Well...right now there aren't 60 Democrats in the Senate anyway, since Ted Kennedy died and Massachusetts must hold a special election to replace him.

And I have to engage in some schadenfreude at that: the Democrats in the Peoples' Republic of Massachusetts changed the law in 2004 so that--had John Kerry won the Presidential election--Republican Mitt Romney would not have been able to appoint a Republican Senator.

Now the Massholes have a Democrat governor who would naturally appoint a Democrat to fill Kennedy's seat...but they never rescinded the law, so now the Senate Democrats are lacking that critical 60th vote and must resort to purely partisan tricks in order to get their greedy hands on the medical system.

'Cause if they wait until after Massachusetts' special election, their momentum will be gone.

The Democrats have decided that they are going to socialize medicine; did you actually think you had a say in this?
