OPEC wants US to limit its oil production so they can squeeze more money out of us.
Oh, but it's so that the world economy
will improve don't ya know?
Sure, let me just bend over that barrel, and you can have at my rectum however you like, I don't mind at all. Of course
I'm perfectly willing to do something that is completely antithetical to my self-interest!
I'd say this request belongs firmly in the "Not only 'no', but 'fuck
no!'" category. OPEC's control of petroleum prices has gone on too long as it is.

So the FDA would have us believe that mercury in fish is bad for you, but mercury in vaccines is good for you.Well, "Mercury is mercury."
If it's not good for you when you're eating fish, then it's not good for you when you're getting injections.
Okay? If you're pregnant, the government tells you not to eat too much fish, because mercury! But if you're pregnant, the government tells you to make sure to get that flu shot despite
there being more mercury in the flu shot than is in the fish!
I'll say it again: I'm not anti-vaccine, but I am only for vaccinating against the really bad
diseases, things like polio and measels and smallpox.

We are often told that "one in five" women who attend college have been raped. 89% of colleges reported no rapes in 2015
, so in order for 20% of female college students to have been raped, that would seem to mean that all
the women attending the other 11% are being raped and skewing the statistics.
So--just close those schools and send all men on those campuses to jail forever, and we've solved it, right?

Speaking of fakery, here's another take on that story about the gay activist church organist who vandalized his own church because he wanted people to be more activist.
Every hate crime hits the papers twice. The first is when the press loudly bleats and moos about how awful those Hatey McHatersons are to do such a thing. The second is when they quietly announce the arrest of the perpetrator, whose name never seems to be Haterson.
By this point one can be reasonably certain that any reported hate crime is a false flag. Bomb threats are called into Jewish community centers by Jews, black churches are burned by blacks, "Fag" is frosted on cakes by homosexuals.
When was the last time this kind of vandalism turned out to actually
have been perpetrated by someone who actually
was a bigot trying to make a point? Because when I look back at the past several years, I don't see any
case where someone who spray painted "N1663R GET OUT" on a black man's home actually
turned out to be a white supremecist. Every time
it turned out to be the homeowner, a member of the church, someone connected with the vandalized property
When they're real
hate crimes, they're always in the other direction. Black people beating up whites. Leftists beating up conservatives. And so on.
* * *The left wants to purge the Civil War from history, because it was the Democrats' fault.
Never forget that the Democrat party was the party of slavery, of Jim Crow, of secession, and of segregation.
That's what they want everyone to forget. They can't rewrite history unless everyone forgets it first.
* * *Democrats expected never to lose an election ever again thanks to Obamacare.
That's why Harry Reid felt comfortable changing the Senate rules for confirming Presidential appointees; he was certain that Democrats would remain in power ad infinitum
and that they'd never again need the filibuster to slow or stop a Republican's appointee.
Now, of course, they are clamoring to have back the very thing they themselves eliminated as being inconvenient for themselves; and of course the GOP ain't about to do that. You were warned at the time that this rule change could come back to bite you in the ass.
You assholes love Alinsky's "rules for radicals". "Make the enemy play by his own rulebook," you say. We're doing that. Lovely, no?
* * *CNN HAS THE STORY THAT WILL BRING DOWN TRUMP!
Trump has two
scoops of ice cream on his pie! Someone alert the Pulitzer committee! Get Woodward and Bernstein on this now!
* * *Two "women" at some sort of protest.
The one on the right almost has feminine facial features, but even the breasts could be attributed to corpulence and maybe gynecomastia; given their proportion to the creature's bulk, they approximate "moobs".
The one on the left, however, looks like Paul Giamatti with some prosthetics
. Despite being only mildly overweight, she has the sex appeal of a garbage truck.
That's the point of their display, though. Knowing only what I see there tells me these two women are lesbians and they are protesting against traditional morals, and they are angry people who probably are in need of psychotherapy and maybe drugs, assuming they're not already on them. They're walking around without shirts on precisely
because they want people to be forced to acknowledge that they are butt-ugly and incapable of passing up the dessert menu.
* * *John Harrison was a genius.
John Harrison's solution to the problem of determining longitude was to build as accurate a timepiece as possible. That way, you would know what time it was in Greenwich, England (which defines zero longitude) and could calculate how far around the Earth you were from it. If I know that it's 6:57 PM in Greenwich (as I type this), I can take the sun's position in the sky right now (local time, in other words) and use those two pieces of information to determine how far around the world I am, in degrees, from there. Harrison's clocks were so accurate that they kept time well enough for navigation.
So he designed--but never built--a pendulum clock which he said would be accurate to within a second over the course of a hundred days. People said it was impossible...but someone built the clock to Harrison's specification and tested it, and it lost 5/8 second over the course of 100 days, proving the clock is indeed as accurate as specified.
We now keep time by counting the oscillation of atoms, and have clocks that are literally billions of times more accurate than that. But Harrison's clocks were absolutely the best
of his time.

Yesterday was pretty exhausting. I have errands to run and chores to attend to, though. I suppose I'd better get after them.
