#7234: I do believe they are deeply afraid.

I didn't even touch this computer yesterday, after work.

I sat in my rocking chair reading Gate until my wife came home, and then we went out and got sushi. After that, we bought a new dishwasher with our tax refund. We sure know how to party!

Yesterday was a craptastic day, and today was not much of an improvement. In a bit, I'm going outside to cut the grass.

Today's post title refers to this, which features several doctors talking about how useful hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) is when preventing and treating COVID-19.

You see, the party line is that HCQ is not only ineffective against the thing, but actively dangerous. It causes this and that and the other thing, mainly heart attacks IIRC! It's too dangerous to use!

...which is why it's commonly used to treat things like lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. It's so dangerous that doctors have been prescribing it for years, even for the arthritis that crops up after you've had Lyme disease. It works wonders against all sorts of things, not just malaria, for which it was originally developed.

And the Great Guru Dr. Fauci himself said that HCQ was useful in the treatment of SARS, the last coronavirus (SARS-CoV) that came out of China and caused an epidemic (only the left didn't hate George Bush the way they hate Trump, because George Bush was a straw man). Of course that was then, 2007, and not now, 2020. COVID-19 is otherwise known as SARS-CoV-2 and treatments that worked on SARS-CoV work against SARS-CoV-2 because their biologies are similar, but no one must say that!

SO twiddle and yougoob and faceboob and all the other social media platforms have been diligently scrubbing any mention of this press conference, because the last thing any of these people want is for the American people to learn that there is an inexpensive prophylactic drug that works against this thing. First off, because that ends the reason for the lockdowns right now, the economy recovers, and Trump wins the election. Second, because they've already lied about it being ineffective for so long, and if people find out Trump was right, Trump wins the election. Third, because it completely obviates the need for the vaccine that everyone and his cousin wants to push on us, probably with "vaccine certification" of one stripe or another, which will be used to punish you if you get out of line. Fourth, because there's no percentage in HCQ, unlike Remsdesivir and annual vaccines and time spent in an ICU bed. And fifth, if enough people get really sick they might be able to use the "emergency" and have the government seize control of the medical system.

Here's the nut of it, a transcript based on the audio which Limbaugh played several times today:
Dr. Stella Immanuel:
For the past few months, after taking care of over 350 patients, we've not lost one. Not a diabetic, not a somebody with high blood pressure, not somebody who asthma, not an old person. We've not lost one patient. And on top of that, I've put myself, my staff, and many doctors that I know on hydroxychloroquine for prevention, because by the very mechanism of action, it works early and as a prophylaxis. We see patients, 10 to 15 COVID patients, everyday. We give them breathing treatments. We only wear surgical mask. None of us has gotten sick. It works.

So right now, I came here to Washington DC to say, America, nobody needs to die. The study that made me start using hydroxychloroquine was a study that they did under the NIH in 2005 that say it works. Recently, I was doing some research about a patient that had hiccups and I found out that they even did a recent study in the NIH, which is our National Institute...that is the National...NIH, what? National Institute of Health. They actually had a study and go look it up. Type hiccups and COVID, you will see it. They treated a patient that had hiccups with hydroxychloroquine and it proved that hiccups is a symptom of COVID. So if the NIH knows that treating the patient would hydroxychloroquine proves that hiccup is a symptom of COVID, then they definitely know the hydroxychloroquine works.
This is someone who learned medicine in Africa, who treated malaria patients with HCQ.

Of course the left is scrambling to discredit her. "Black lives matter" but only when they're not black African woman doctors who are speaking out against their attempt to shove HCQ under the rug.

They are lying to us because they want us to suffer and die. So that they can improve their chances of winning an election.

Speaking of lying liars, this is a pretty big lie. "Oh, so many guns from neighboring states are seized by police after crimes are committed with them! So many from Indiana and Wisconsin and Tennesee and Missouri and Kentucky!"

Huh? Why not Iowa...?

4,479 guns seized by police (they say "recovered" but those guns never belonged to the police) came from other states! And this is why we need nation-wide gun control so badly!

...5,337 guns that originally came from Illinois itself were seized by police, post-crime. Close to 900 more from one state (IL) than from the other five states combined.

And again, I say, "Why not Iowa?" How many guns are seized, post-crime, in Illinois which originally came from Iowa?

Because they took the top five states, that's why, and Iowa is 10th in line. Which one is number six? Mississippi. You know, that Gulf Coast state that's a 12-hour drive from southern Illinois? And Texas is number seven, an even farther drive from southern Illinois.

...but of course those far-off states don't support the narrative, so they're ignored.

They're lying. They're lying, because they're lying liars who can only support their preferred policies by lying.

Rob Reiner is one of the most useless extrusions ever to come out of Hollywood. Archie Bunker called his character on All In The Family "Meathead" for many a year, and the simple fact is, that monicker is presciently accurate.

He's twiddling horseshit like this: "Donald Trump is actively trying to kill our children," he says.

It's been well recognized, by all except unionized teachers, that COVID-19 barely effects children at all. By far and away a vast majority of kids simply don't catch it. The miniscule fraction that does is subject to the same proportions as adults, where 80% of the people who catch the thing are completely asymptomatic, leaving 20% of some handful of children to make up the serious cases.

Once you drill down into the depths of the trace of a trace of cases you find that so few children are dying of COVID-19 that if the life expectancy of children were our only concern with the disease, we wouldn't have closed anything at all.

Looking at the sampling of twittts that Meathead has extruded, all I can see is a perilously unhinged, frothing-at-the-mouth case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.

I like how the article then pivots to talking about how many of "our children" are being killed by Planned Parenthood every year. Funny that Meathead doesn't seem to care about them, right? Mr. "Save Our Children" just doesn't give a rip about the 300,000-odd children who were deliberately executed by Planned Parenthood. No, but the vanishingly small handful of children who got sick with COVID-19 and whose lives couldn't be saved (gee, maybe they should have been given hydroxychloroquine!), all of those deaths are Donald Trump's fault.

I think "Meathead" was used only because you couldn't say "shithead" on TV in the 1970s.

So--Intel missed the bandwagon for 10nm, and now they're missing the bandwagon for 7nm.

Heads are rolling at Intel because AMD is eating their lunch, wholesale. Their processors are just faster now, all around, and they use less power to boot.

Well--Intel is worried about being woke, you see, and we all know what the next step is.

Excess labor. Rome didn't develop much technologically because they had too little work for too many hands.

This is not at all surprising to me, but then again I've always known that smartphones are in fact just computers that can make phone calls.

Well, I'd better change my shirt and go cut some grass. *sigh*

#7235: Well, that's fantastic!

So I went outside and cut the front, the back, and the sides, all on one tank of gas in the pusher, and without having to stop!

Last time I had to stop partway through, come inside, and take a hit of albuterol, because I had a coughing fit bad enough that it was making me retch (asthma, anyone?). Today, I powered through the coughing fit (which was almost as acute but didn't last very long) and got it all done in one go. Got my cardio, didn't have to take drugs, got the grass cut: win-win-win.

Had to go to the far offsite twice today. First, went there directly from the bunker, arriving at 7:55, because of part of the reason yesterday was so craptastic. Left around 9, returned to the office and worked until lunchtime.

Went back to the offsite for an appointment I'd made two weeks ago. When I finished up there, headed back to the office again.

On the way back, saw a go-kart in someone's trash. Actually pulled a u-turn to take a second look at it, but then thought the better of it and drove past. But I had to work for it.

Simple fact: even if I had grabbed it, it would have sat in the garage for at least six to eight months while I took care of everything else that has a greater priority. Taking up precious garage space, because it could not be left outside to junk up the yard, and every time I needed to do something out there I would have to move the thing to do it, and then move it back.

It also was small, like it was built for a younger rider (kid aged perhaps 8-10) and would have required extensive modification for me to fit. Engine's probably shot, and it looked like a weedeater motor to boot.

But complete go kart and good basis for a project and-and-and. Nonetheless, I kept driving; let someone else have it, because the last thing I need around here is more fricking inoperable junk.

Anyway, I need to figure out what dinner will be, I guess.
