#838: Okay, it is awesome.

I had a chance this morning to fool around with the stereo system with the subwoofer turned on.

You see, working nights, I have to sleep during the day, and over the past several days I haven't been able to do much with the subwoofer, because I've been sleeping during the day. And on my days off I've had other things to do when I wasn't sleeping, anyway.

So here I've had the thing for a week, almost, and today was the second time I've been able to turn it on and see what it can do.

So I put in Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Rings. I watched the introduction, up to the point at which Bilbo has just written the title page of his book. And it is awesome.

I'm definitely glad I got the thing, even if it's not something I'll use every day, because when I want to watch a movie with surround, it'll really add to the experience.

Even at the "dialed in" level that the subwoofer's volume is set, the sound on the LotR:FotR set up some nice rumbles in the room via the sub. I think I could get used to this.
