After the rain had passed through, as predicted, the temperature began dropping. It got foggy for about half an hour.
And it started snowing.
So here we are, at 10 PM, with blowing snow, frigid temps, 25 MPH winds, and no fun. I'm glad I don't have to be at work tonight. In fact, once I'm done writing this, I'm going to brush my teeth and go to bed.

I watched the first new episode of House, MD of the year, and enjoyed it thoroughly. As always it has almost no re-watch factor. But I must say I am getting tired of the deus ex machina of House talking to his oncologist friend, the friend saying something, and that triggering an idea in House's brain which allows him to save the patient's life.
When it gets down to the last five minutes of the episode, and the patient is dying with no hope of survival, and House's buddy says something which jogs his noodle--I could buy that happening once in a while, but in nearly every case? C'mon.

Besides House I also watched the usual pantheon of anime. Pretty Cure Max Heart continues to develop the story--and I have to comment further on this series, because the producers have dropped the ball.
When I watched ep 6, I had to stop it, go back to ep 5, and make sure I hadn't missed anything. Why, you ask? Simple:
Ending of ep 5: bad guy yells and charges. Pretty Cure yells and charges. End credits.
Beginning of ep 6: bad guy at bad guys' hideout, intro of second bad guy, opening credits.
Hru?
Dudes? You, uh, missed a spot.
It's not such a stretch for the audience to assume that Pretty Cure won the fight with the bad guy, particularly when you're watching ep 6 out of 47 and you already have them all. But there is no explanation or anything and I had to piece it all together myself; I even went so far as to look up the episode titles on Wikipedia and checked them against what I had on the machine to make sure Arienai didn't make a mistake with them. But they didn't; this one came "direct from the factory", so to speak.
This is a major continuity error.
The teaser for ep 6 should have been the girls talking about having won the fight with the bad guy or something. Instead it just left us hanging. I can only imagine what fans of the series went through in Japan when it was initially broadcast.
Oh well.
...Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS is interesting stuff. It's SF that looks like "magical girl". I'm still wondering what will happen with the Geneon meltdown--will the fansubs reappear, or what? I want to see the first two series.
Ef: A Tale of Memories redeemed itself in episode 8. If you haven't watched this yet, I'm telling you that you can skip the latter half of ep 7 and hardly notice the difference.
Minami-ke is over. At least, the first series is. Ep 13 kind of trailed off; but since I am now grabbing torrents of Minami-ke: Okawari, I know there'll be more.
For the record, I still maintain that Chiaki is a little bitch. But the other characters are likable and the situations are hilarious.

I've been re-watching Lucky Star because I enjoyed it the first time through. It's funnier the second time.

Good night all.
