And I'm going to have to be better about oil changes. I was thinking--as I cleaned up after finishing--that I changed the oil in my truck more often than I cut my hair, but that's not true. I last got my hair cut in March, and just got it cut again this past week. But the Jeep's oil hadn't been changed since January.
Well, that's not how I normally do things, and the Jeep sat a lot during the summer when gas was hanging around $4 per gallon. So it's not all bad; anyway it's less than 3,000 miles since I last changed it, and the Jeep's got a big sump (6 qts), and the straight-6 is as close to bulletproof as you can get with a precision machine that has moving parts.
But that oil was past due for changing, anyway.
Tomorrow's task is to get the suspension lubricated. We're supposed to have approximately the same kind of weather as today's, so that ought to be okay.
I don't remember when I changed the Escort's oil, but I haven't been driving it anyway. Besides, that thing burns oil, so it practically changes its own oil. Heh.
