#1399: No, it won't!

Amish "immune" to heart disease, "may lead to new drugs". I'm predicting that it won't. Why?

Because they use muscle power to do everything. They get a lot of exercise. Also they make their own food--they don't buy prepackaged stuff from the supermarket.

Before people start talking about the miracle drugs that studying the Amish will provide, first eliminate the fact that their lifestyle comes straight from the 19th century.

This community in particular has a genetic mutation, but I wonder how much of a role that actually plays.
