Obama is awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

Committee sez it's for "his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples".

Is that so? Can these guys name one thing Obama has done which was both "extraordinary" and effective? They cited "his outreach to the Muslim world and attempts to curb nuclear proliferation."

In other words, Obama has been given the Nobel Peace Prize for going on his World Apology Tour.

"'Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world's attention and given its people hope for a better future,' Thorbjoern Jagland, chairman of the Nobel Committee said."

All Obama has done was to go to various countries and apologize for the United States. He decided to discontinue the missile shield in eastern Europe. He's talking about nuclear disarmament. He's pushing for taxing the shit out of Americans in the name of preventing "global warming". In other words?

He hasn't done anything. The reason CNN jumped on the SNL skit lampooning Obama--and "fact checked" it--was that it was correct in its satire: Obama has done nothing but talk. Just compare his campaign promises to what he's actually done!

What it amounts to, in fact, is that Obama has been given the Nobel Peace Prize for being a liberal Democrat in the White House and pursuing typical lefty-liberal Democrat policies. Nothing he has done will actually foster peace or make the world any safer; it's just that his political prejudices happen to coincide with those of the Nobel Committee, and he's President of the United States.

As for me, I don't know why I'm outraged at this; it's par for the course. Thinking about it now, I'm calming down because I--had I even thought about the Nobel Peace Prize--could have predicted this.

I don't generally think about it because it's a bullshit award given by socialist morons to other socialist morons. It never occurs to me to think, "Hmm, I wonder who will get the Nobel Peace Prize this year?" because the answer is always the same: find the most liberal-lefty-socialist-communist person you can who has recently arisen to prominence and has not gotten the Prize yet; you can bet he's on the short list.

Look: Carter won the thing. Al Gore won the thing. For what? For not being George Bush. (The douchebags as much as said so in Carter's case.) What the hell did Carter ever do to foster peace? From here, everything Carter did while in office led to thirty years of mideast violence!

Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize is not surprising, nor does it mean anything important. It just means that the Nobel committee is giving the thing out based on their personal political preferences.
