Again comes the liberal arrogance: tea partiers only oppose Obama's plans because they are stupid, and if the Democrats can explain their ideas in short sentences using words of few syllables, the extra-chromosome right wing will understand and stop opposing them.
Earth to Democrats: we understand you perfectly. We get it, and we don't like it.

The US government continues to pound Toyota. Toyota is the largest auto manufacturer in the world, and the US government owns about half of the company which formerly occupied that top slot.
It's not a coincidence.

Understand what this means: a two-cylinder engine which makes 104 HP (turbocharged) means a great deal of weight savings.
No torque figures are given, of course; they never are. Torque wins races; horsepower sells cars.
If this engine can make a decent amount of torque at a reasonable speed, I'd be all over it.

A woman who lied about being raped and got an innocent man sent to prison is now herself going to prison.
How the hell is the man she falsely accused supposed to get his life back after that? She ruined his life; it's only just that she should go to jail. She ought to spend at least as much time in jail as he did.

Wasn't Roe v. Wade supposed to prevent this kind of thing? I'm not talking about the frozen babies; I'm talking about the woman dying in the wake of an abortion.
Whenever Roe v. Wade is called into question, pro-abortion people immediately whip out the coat hangars and start talking about women dying from "botched back-alley abortions".
Sources tell Eyewitness News that the search came after a patient reportedly died following an abortion on November 20.So an unlicensed member of an abortionist's staff, someone who is not legally allowed to dispense prescription drugs much less administer them to a patient, do exactly that. And the patient ended up dying.
According to the State Board of Medicine, Dr. Gosnell had an unlicensed staff member conduct vaginal exams and administer medication.
In the November 20 case, the state claims the staff member administered Demerol, Promethazine and Diazepam to the female patient.
This abortion may not have been performed in a "back alley" but it certainly was botched, and I'm sure there are plenty of other examples of this kind of thing happening all over the country which we never hear about. I wonder if anyone actually keeps any statistics on this?

Consumer confidence is at an all-time low.
It's another "unexpected" statistic. The economists to whom the media pays attention apparently don't understand what the hell is going on, because every time there is any economic news reported these days the latest figures are "unexpected" or at least other than what they were expecting.
All these guys are expecting the economy to turn right around and start growing again, probably because that's what it did the last several times. But the last several recessions did not occur in the same conditions as this one has, and they did not occur in an environment where business quite literally did not know what to expect from the federal government.
The sitting government of the US is the most anti-business government to be in office for decades, and yet it wonders why there's no hiring or consumption taking place?
Oh, of course, I forgot: they just haven't explained themselves properly. Right?
