#2353: Nine and eleven years ago today

Nine years ago (in about 2 hours) I lost my cushy tech writing job.

Eleven years ago (in about 4 hours) I had my appendix removed. (It was a Friday then, too!)

What is it about October 15? All I know is, I'm not going to be able to relax until it's the 16th.
