So off I went.
I was originally just going to make the loop: Exchange to Western to Sauk to home--but on my way through South Chicago Heights I saw a car show taking place, so I stopped and had a gander at the cars. Completely unexpected, but cars so I stopped.
Someone there had a 1976 Caprice Classic. The body of that car has some serious differences from the Impala body style of a year earlier, but the engine compartment was 100% familiar to me.
There were some cars I'd seen from the Crete cruise night there, but mostly these were cars I'd never seen before, so it was a lot of fun to have a gander.
Got back on the bike and headed homeward; saw a guy going the other way and exchanges waves, which felt nice; and so instead of turning homeward I headed south on Route 1.
I didn't go far; just to where it turns off to connect to Illinois 394. I went down the remaining stub, turned around, and headed back. Then I went home.
And not a moment too soon: the mail came, and with it, the MP3 players I bought from Ebay a few nights ago. That was pretty damn fast.
So as I type this I'm testing the blue one, having already tested the pink one (it's more magenta than pink, actually) and preparing to test the black one. If all is well, over to Ebay to post good feedback for the guy.
$30 shipped for three of these things. As I recall I paid about $20 for one of these in 2008, so it's a pretty good buy.

Damn, am I sleepy. Time for a nap, I think.
