...[A]ll food at home went up 6% last year. Over ten years this is an inflation rate of 79% and over a working man's 45 years in the workforce it's a total inflation of nearly 1,300%!Don't, because it's going to hurt when you look at it and realize how much value your savings will lose.
This is "stable prices"?
Motor fuel (for your car) was up 10.3% over the last year. Don't run that number out 45 years. Just don't.
...but this doesn't surprise me. It's an election year and the mainstream media is desperate to re-elect their boy, so of course the news will be full of "everything is fine! Nothing is ruined!"

Again: went to bed at midnight, woke up at 4 AM, hungry.
When I woke up at 4 I felt terrible, emotionally. I don't know what it was, exactly, unless it was a new and exciting way for me to have a panic attack. Shit. It sucked and I felt like I was losing my mind or something.
But I calmed down after a bit, and would have fallen asleep if my stomach hadn't been empty and my bladder full. I got up and made tacos, and ate them, and played WoW for a while. Now I am thinking about watching some anime; and after that I'll try sleeping again.
This business of waking up at 4 and being unable to sleep is, however, for the birds. I have things I want to do today; at the very least I want to get this damned heat sink taken back to CompUSA.
...thinking about picking up another SATA DVD+/-R/CD-R/RW/WTF drive, too, while I'm at it. Maybe just do an exchange--the drive shouldn't cost much more than $20 and the heat sink was $25; even allowing for a 15% restocking fee shouldn't require me to give them much, if any, additional money.
It'd be nice to yank the IDE drive from Cephiro and replace it with a SATA one, if only because that way I wouldn't have that ribbon cable stretching across the whole freakin' case and getting in the way whenever I want to do anything.
Other thought: video card for El-Hazard...but why?

Anyway, that's it for now. WTF.
