#3296: High-fructose corn syrup kills lots of bees.

How's that for "unintended consequences"? The bees were dying because of the insecticide that had been sprayed on the corn used to make the syrup.

So it's not "climate change" after all, but a simple and traceable cause-and-effect...once you abandon pseudoscience and start making with the real science.

All they have to do is stop giving the bees high fructose corn syrup.

This article doesn't say if the material turns flexible again once the impact energy has been dissipated.

Larry Niven talked about this stuff in Ringworld, though. Or maybe it was some book he wrote with Jerry Pournelle; I can't remember. I just remember they were talking about this idea in the 1970s.

Okay, I've got three things about Obama and the economy:

Factory orders rose 1.3% in February which is below expectations, of course. (This entire "recovery" has missed economists' expectations. Why would they suddenly start being right now?)

Meanwhile the government continues to fudge the unemployment numbers.

The Democrats will furiously deny parallels between Obama and Carter. Sure they will. It won't mean that Obama isn't Carter 2.0, though, because he is.

...and if better than Jimmy Carter is your standard for reelecting a President, you're in bad shape indeed.
