#3431: Rain!

So after that long-winded yammering about no rain, last night about 7-ish I started hearing thunder, and then it rained a lot.

With the 4th still about 17 days away, though, things could still dry back out again if we don't get rain between now and then. Have to keep an eye on that.

When I went to bed around midnight it was so cool outside--though humid--I opened up the bunker. And this morning it's still pleasant outside, though the forecast says "90" and I'm inclined to believe it.

So last night while playing WoW, the guild Ormusia is in was having an RP event--taking the fight to the Horde, members gathered in Arathi Highlands and (I infer) went to Hammerfall to do some World PvP.

...Ormusia, at 18th level, was too low to go.

So on the guild in-character chat channel, Ormusia announced that she was going to go "picky plants!"

In regular guild chat, I said: "translation for the non-stupid: I'm farming herbs."

Response: "I understood that, and LOL"

At some point there's going to have to be some kind of reveal that her simplemindedness is partly an act, because there is simply no way in hell any competent adult could be that freakin' stupid.

Of course there's no rule saying Ormusia has to be a competent adult, either.

I don't do the schtick during combat; that would be sinister rather than cute. "Teehee! Stabby stabby!" No. But last night she was attacked by a coyote, and after she'd killed it she scolded, "Don't bother Ormusia while she's picky plants!"

The practical upshot of all this is that Ormusia added three levels and 45 points to her inscription while hopping around singing inane songs to herself.

I wish I could do that in real life. I mean, I've got the "hopping around and singing inane songs" part down; why is the other one so hard?

Flopped for about 20 min, had some ibuprofen and a shower; now I feel halfway functional. At least enough to eat dinner. Typing no longer hurts. This…

I spent the last four and a half hours--with about a 20-minute respite--in motion. Pool is up. It's leaking, but I'm pretty sure I know where…

He's right, this is their perennial response. "If we can't have abortions, then the men have to be sterilized." The theory is that the men must be…
