#3727: Okay, I'm going back to bed.

No rehearsal, no shopping, no nothin'. It's going to make tomorrow's errands more annoying, but not by very much, and this way at least I can face it with a little bit more rest under my belt.

The snow we got last night did not amount to much. The grass is covered, mostly, but I don't think the streets ever did much more than get wet.

Fine by me. I just don't care.

Democrat politicians at the local level, who supported Obamacare, are now trying to find ways to avoid paying the freight. They were all for it when it was a theory, but now that their town budget is going to get hammered by Obamacare costs, they're desperately looking for the loopholes so they don't have to pay through the nose.
Loretta Walsh, a supporter of Obama who said during the election that Republicans who oppose Obama are racist, was unhappy the human resources department did not notify the unions some of their members were going to be losing hours – and money.

“The unions are not our adversaries,” Walsh said. “We are all in this mess together.”
Guess what? You all got what you wanted; time for you assholes to suck it up and figure out how you're going to pay for it. The money is not going to appear from nowhere.

And cram your accusations of racism up your racist ass while you're at it.

Wikipedia is awash in cash. Hey, if someone wants to donate money to them, that's his business, not mine. And there's nothing wrong with asking for contributions, either. But it'd be nice if Wikipedia stopped with the poor-mouthing and instead just asked for donations.

Politically-motivated raid on the gun shop where the Sandy Hook shooter's mother bought her guns. I'm saying it's politically motivated because I think it is. "[O]fficials said it was not prompted by a single incident. An official said that an ongoing investigation was accelerated by recent developments, though the official didn’t say what those developments entailed." I'd wager the "recent developments" were in fact that a sick bastard went into a primary school and shot 26 people dead, and the guns he used were legally purchased from this particular gun store, and the local police want to make it look like they're doing anything other than sitting on their thumbs.

*rolleyes*

Piers Morgan very neatly elucidates the left's arguments for gun control:
ou are talking complete and utter nonsense....

What you just said, Mr. Pratt, was an absolute lie....

You’re an unbelievably stupid man, aren’t you?...

What a ridiculous argument. You have absolutely no coherent argument whatsoever. You don’t give a damn, do you, about the gun murder rate in America. You don’t actually care....

It’s complete nonsense....

I know why sales of these weapons have been soaring in the last few days. It’s down to idiots like you....

You are a dangerous man espousing dangerous nonsense, and you shame your country.
Yep, that sounds about right. It really is all they have--that and appeals to emotion--because the facts demonstrate time and again that if you really want to stop crime and violence, you need to let law-abiding people carry firearms. NOTHING ELSE WORKS.

"Perhaps when [Obama's] done trying to score political points off a tragedy he can address the culture that aborts thousands of babies a day and belittles those who question why we have to pay for someone else’s birth control."

JayG quotes an excellent comparison of liberal positions:
If you ban abortions, law-abiding women will be turned into criminals as they turn to the black market for illegal abortions.

If you ban guns, criminals will turn into law-abiding citizens and stop carrying and using guns illegally.

And two plus two equals penguin.
This accurately represents what they believe.

JayG further goes on to compare other liberal beliefs, like the ones about smoking in movies versus McDonald's ads on TV and their relative health effects, etcetera.

Short form: liberalism is hypocritical.

I feel amazingly tired. I think I'll go do something about that.
