The result? Shopping's done, and I even picked up Cinnabons so I won't have to drive to Merrilville tomorrow. The only place I absolutely must go tomorrow is to Baker's Square to get the pies I ordered. Otherwise, the only things left to do are cleaning a bit, and wrapping presents.
I left the bunker around 8-ish and was hurrying to the OP mall, thinking they closed at 9 PM but hoping they had holiday hours so I would have more than a few minutes to accomplish what needed doing.
Well, when I got there at 8:30, I took the very first parking spot I saw and hurried inside, only to see that the mall was open until 11 PM.
...and in the "I must have been on drugs!" department: I was over that way about 10 days ago, with Lemonzen, and I'd thought I'd seen a bookstore; but I looked for it tonight and did not find it. The only bookstore in the mall is a Hallmark Card store, which is emphatically not going to have the kind of books I'm looking for. Argh etc.
But that's fine. I got done what I wanted to get done, and can relax a bit.

The other thing:
...I paid my bills today, and mailed Christmas cards. Three of them were for relatives with Christmas checks inside; the rest of them went to people on the list of shut-ins who are members of my church. I thought it'd be nice to send Christmas cards to them, and that's why they included that list with the church bulletin every Sunday of Advent anyway. But paying bills used up my supply of stamps, so I had to buy more; and so there I was in the post office sticking stamps on Christmas cards being sent to people I've never met, but who could probably use a little gesture of kindness.
I'm still not completely done in the Christmas card department but the two others I need to do can go in the mail tomorrow.

Anyway, I'd better finish those before I go to bed.
